THR Named Society of Publication Designers Medal Finalist in Three Categories

The Hollywood Reporter has been named a Medal Finalist in three categories of the Society of Publication Designers’ 48th annual competition. The SPD competition recognizes the highest examples of design, photography and illustration in both print and digital platforms.

THR creative director Shanti Marlar and photo director Jennifer Laski are honored alongside the entire art and photo department with a design nomination for Peter Cury’s work on the October 2012 Snoop Lion feature, produced by deputy photo editor Jenny Sargent. The team also is recognized for Ruven Afanador’s photography of Marion Cotillard in the March 18, 2012, issue. Laski and her team also are honored for their behind-the-scenes video of THR’s Conan O’Brien shoot, published to the web on May 23, 2012.

The SPD also recognized THR’s sister publication Adweek with three mentions in the photo and digital sections.
