New comScore results show that THR.com had 4.6 million unique visitors in April, up 14% from the previous month, and the fourth straight month showing record growth. It also marks THR.com’s biggest month in history for both visitors and pageviews (12 million). Yearly growth is up 858% from April 2010 as THR.com continues to extend its lead as the most-read news site covering the entertainment industry. Additionally, the latest numbers also place THR.com in the top 1% of fastest growing websites on the internet.
The latest comScore results arrive simultaneously with the appointment of Joseph Kapsch to the position of editor, THR.com. Kapsch was most recently the editorial director of the successful entertainment news site Zap2it. Prior to that, he was the deputy entertainment editor for online at the Los Angeles Times, where he relaunched the awards site The Envelope and worked on a redesign of the site’s entertainment section, expanding it into a full service, multichannel site. He was also instrumental in the creation of the influential blogs Show Tracker, Idol Tracker, Pop & Hiss and Hero Complex. Previously, Kapsch worked for NBC Digital Entertainment and held key positions at ABC/Disney, MSN and Sony Pictures Digital.
