John Schneider, Roma Downey and Brooke Nevin have been tapped to star in "Wedding Dance," a Hallmark Channel original movie airing next year.

The telefilm, which goes into production this month in Vancouver, centers on a bride-to-be (Nevin) who is shocked when the father (Schneider) she never knew shows up holding the deed to her family's dance studio, which she hopes to sell to pursue her dream of becoming a therapist. She turns to her attorney (Downey) for help.

This marks the third Hallmark Channel movie for Schneider, who is repped by Kohner Agency and manager Steven Jensen, following 2007's "You've Got a Friend" and May's "Shark Swarm."

"Dance" will be directed by Mark Jean ("7th Heaven") from a story by Jean Abounader and J.B. White ("The 12 Days of Christmas Eve") and teleplay by White.

The movie, from Annuit Coeptis Development and Johnson Production Group, is exec produced by Abounader and Tim Johnson and produced by Christian Bruyere and Kirk Shaw.

Schneider also just signed on for a multiepisode arc on ABC's "Dirty Sexy Money." (partialdiff)
