The acquisitions include Front Gate Tickets, which specializes in ticketing for festivals, as well as Universe, which helps event organizers sell tickets online themselves.

Live Nation's Ticketmaster said on Tuesday that it has purchased Front Gate Tickets, which specializes in ticketing for festivals, as well as Universe, which helps event organizers sell tickets online themselves.

Terms of the acquisitions were not disclosed.

Front Gate was founded in 2003 and its clients include music events like Coachella, Austin City Limits, Electric Forest and Lollapalooza. In 2014, Front Gate sold 3 million tickets, shipped more than 1 million wristbands and scanned more that 2.5 million RFID chips.

Universe, a so-called DIY ticketing company, says its sales increased seven-fold last year as it served "thousands of event organizers globally."
