Toronto: Download THR's Day 3 Daily
A look at the fest's film market, exclusive news of Sarah Jessica Parker's new film and a chat with Isabelle Huppert.
The Hollywood Reporter has released its third and final Toronto International Film Festival daily issue, which includes a look at the fest's film market, exclusive news of Sarah Jessica Parker's new film and a chat with Isabelle Huppert.
Toronto's Slow Market
The fest hasn’t been a seller’s dream so far. "There’s not much action so far, and there’s less of a sense of urgency this year," says Tom Bernard, Sony Pictures Classics co-president. “A lot of people don’t want to lay the big gun on the table and then get slaughtered by critics.” THR takes a look at the projects on the verge of making a deal.
Parker's Next Project
Parker is taking the mic for an untitled drama that sees her reteaming with AMBI Pictures, THR reports exclusively. The Sex and the City star will star (and sing) as a New York chanteuse who wrestles with the implications of a serious health diagnosis. House of Cards writer Laura Eason wrote the screenplay; Parker developed and will produce.
"None of Them Are Victims"
Huppert arrives at Toronto with three new films in which she shows the exquisite subtlety and range of her acting ability: Mia Hansen-Love's Things to Come, Bavo Defurne’s Souvenir and Paul Verhoeven's Elle. The seasoned actress spoke with THR about playing powerful women who refuse to conform.
