Tim Burton and Helena Bonham Carter Separate
The couple has split after 13 years and several films together
Tim Burton and Helena Bonham Carter have split after 13 years together.
The couple "separated amicably earlier this year and have continued to be friends and co-parent their children," Carter's representative told The Hollywood Reporter on Tuesday. "We would ask that you respect their privacy and that of their children during this time."
Burton and Carter have two children, Billy Raymond, 11, and Nell, 7. The couple never married.
They met in 2001 during the filming of Planet of the Apes and have worked on several movies together, including Big Fish, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Corpse Bride, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Alice in Wonderland and Dark Shadows.
Burton's latest film, Big Eyes, starring Amy Adams and Christoph Waltz, opens on Christmas Day.
