Tim Gunn Thinks Kanye West's Fashion Line Is "Dumb"
The 'Project Runway' judge didn't hold back his thoughts on the Kardashian-Jenners either.
When it comes to speaking his mind, Tim Gunn doesn't skip a beat — not even if you're Anna Wintour. So when the Project Runway judge was asked about America's potential future first family — Kanye West and the Kardashians — in a Huffington Post interview, he didn't hesitate to express his frustrations with the clan and their rise in the fashion industry.
Of Kanye's latest collection, Gunn remarked, "I think they're a bunch of dumb clothes. Just basic pieces." The TV personality is aware that the man who proclaimed that "sweatshirts are f—ing important" isn't going to like what he has to say, and neither will the Kardashians.
"When it comes to fashion, I say to people all the time, 'If you want guidance for your fashion, just consider this, if a Kardashian is wearing it — don't,' " declared Gunn, who doesn't seem to understand "why" the family is part of the fashion biz.
"I think it's vulgar and I just think given the amount of public exposure that the Kardashians have to potentially be sending a message to people that 'you too can dress like this' — no."
And he doesn't stop there.
When asked what he thought about Kendall Jenner, who's been walking in practically every major runway since her debut on Marc Jacobs' fall 2014 show, Gunn said of her "It" factor: "I shouldn’t say that she doesn’t, I don’t know her, she may be a perfectly lovely young woman, I just feel that she’s tainted by the Kardashian aura of 'yuck.'
