Urbanworld Film Festival entry from Tim AlexanderNEW YORK -- Magnolia Pictures has acquired worldwide rights to this weekend's Urbanworld Film Festival entry "Diary of a Tired Black Man."
The film follows the love life of a successful man (Jimmy Jean-Louise) as he attempts to navigate "stereotypes, resentment and anger harbored by black women towards the men in their community." The provocative film is billed with the tagline, "Now it's black men's turn to exhale."
Tim Alexander wrote, produced, directed, edited and scored the film. It will screen Sept. 13 at the Urbanworld fest in New York, followed by a 2009 Magnolia release. The distributors negotiated the deal with Alexander.
