"Yo, how am I supposed to talk if you're going to be running this thing in the middle while I'm talking?" he fumes to Matt Lauer mid-interview when his infamous VMA moment is aired.
Kanye West angrily Twittered about his appearance on the Today show Tuesday night.
"Yo, I really wonder if Matt Lauer thought that shit was cool to play the MTV clip while I was speaking about Bush," West wrote, referring to his infamous interruption of Taylor Swift at the 2009 MTV VMAs. West appeared on the Today show to discuss his apology to George W. Bush, whom he called a racist for his handling of Hurricane Katrina.
On Thursday, the Today show showed the clip that angered West; watch above. The rapper was in the middle of explaining how he was criticized himself for being racist after interrupting Swift: "It was so funny to me that it could be a race thing. What I was expressing was a frustration for years of seeing, you know…"
A clip from the MTV VMAs began to play. West stopped speaking: "Yo, how am I supposed to talk if you're going to be running this thing in the middle while I'm talking?"
