Tom Hanks Developing College Athlete Comedy at HBO (Exclusive)

Long-time producing partner Gary Goetzman will join him, reuniting the pair with the network behind "Big Love," "The Pacific" and "Band of Brothers."
HBO is back in business with Tom Hanks.
The premium cable network has a half-hour comedy, titled Players, in development from Hanks and his long-time producing partner and Playtone co-founder Gary Goetzman. The project follows the lives of college athletes.
James Evans and Darryl Scott will serve as producers on the project, with Hanks and Goetzman attached as executive producers.

Players marks a reunion for HBO and the EPs. The duo was behind acclaimed miniseries Band of Brothers, John Adams and The Pacific, all of which earned Emmy awards, as well as long-running HBO drama, Big Love.
