"I'm that actor in some of the movies you liked and some you didn't," he writes.

Tom Hanks has joined Facebook.

On Monday, he announced that he is "officially on 'the' Facebook." In his introduction message, he writes, "I'm that actor in some of the movies you liked and some you didn't. Sometimes I'm in pretty good shape, other times I'm not. Hey, you gotta live, you know?" So far, more than 300,000 people have clicked that they "like" him.
