Toni Collette, Matthew Goode Join Indie Comedy 'Birthmarked'
The project was directed by Emanuel Hoss-Desmarais.
Oscar-nominated Toni Collette and Matthew Goode have boarded the indie comedy Birthmarked, now shooting in Montreal.
They play respected scientists who conduct an experiment on three children they hope will revolutionize the understanding of human identity only to discover the true meaning of family. Birthmarked was directed by Emanuel Hoss-Desmarais and has an ensemble cast that includes Andreas Apergis, Michael Smiley, Fionnula Flanagan and Suzanne Clement.
The indie reunites co-producers Pierre Even of Item 7 and Susan Mullen of Parallel Film Productions, both of whom collaborated on the Oscar-nominated drama Brooklyn, which also shot in Montreal. The film is based on a script by Marc Tulin, from an original story by Emanuel Hoss-Desmarais and Tulin.
Birthmarked is executive produced by Jeff Sackman, Berry Meyerowitz and Mark Slone of Entertainment One, which will release the pic in Canada.
Collette is repped by CAA and Finley Management, Goode by CAA and Dalzell & Beresford, and director Hoss-Desmarais by CAA and Agence Claude Girard.
