Dressing up for any awards show entails a night full of glamour, but for one particular actress, the Tonys red carpet holds a little more meaning.
Anna Gunn, who arrived at the Tony Awards in a glitzy gold floral Jenny Packham gown, shared how the Tony Awards felt slightly more special to her, in comparison to the Emmys red carpet.
"It was different only in that it almost feels slightly more glamorous to me because this is what I dreamed of from the beginning of my career – being on Broadway and being at the Tonys," Gunn told The Hollywood Reporter during the red carpet. "When I saw this dress, it took my breath away, and then [her stylist, Carol McColgin, also The Hollywood Reporter's style editor] goes for every single detail and she never misses a detail."
Though her former Breaking Bad co-star Bryan Cranston scored gold for best lead actor in the play All the Way, Gunn said she hasn't had time to watch his award-winning Broadway performance as Lyndon B. Johnson. "I have not – I have not seen anything because I was working on the TV series that I just wrapped a week ago," explained Gunn, whose next on-screen project includes starring in Fox's new series Gracepoint.
As for starring in the off-Broadway show Sex with Strangers, the Emmy Award-winning actress revealed she starts rehearsals Monday.
"I have a lot of jitters, but they're all good jitters. They're all those really exciting jitters," said Gunn. " What's great is that I'll rehearse during the day, and then I'm gonna hit the theater every night that I can."
