Top TV Execs Meet With President-Elect Trump in Tower Summit
The president-elect starts Thanksgiving week with a gathering of more than a dozen execs and talent from broadcast and cable.
After a year and a half of giving him an exhaustive amount of coverage, the biggest names in TV news met with President-elect Donald Trump on Monday afternoon.
A slew of on-air talent and executive brass from the various cable and broadcast news outlets arrived at New York's Trump Tower to meet with Trump and his team for a rare gathering of Fox News, CNN, MSNBC, ABC News, CBS News and Fox News personalities in one place.
Among those confirmed to be in attendance are Fox News Channel's Bill Shine, Jack Abernethy, Jay Wallace, Suzanne Scott and Brian Jones and CNN's Jeff Zucker, Wolf Blitzer and Erin Burnett. Others spotted entering the Fifth Avenue high rise include CBS' Charlie Rose, John Dickerson, Norah O'Donnell and Gayle King; NBC's Deborah Turness, Lester Holt, Chuck Todd and Phil Griffin; and ABC's George Stephanopoulos, Martha Raddatz and David Muir.
The exact subject matter of the meeting is not yet known, though it is assumed that access and coverage will be points of discussion. Trump, who was a fixture on TV news throughout his long campaign, has made scant few appearances since the election.
One of the bigger question marks around the upcoming Trump administration is how the former reality star will be covered after his media-centric campaign — and how he will interact with the press. He has already received flak for ditching his press pool in the two weeks since he beat Hillary Clinton.
