Toronto 2011: Oscilloscope Acquires Andrea Arnold's 'Wuthering Heights'
The company has picked up North American distribution rights to the drama.
Oscilloscope Laboratories has picked up North American distribution rights to Andrea Arnold's adaptation of Wuthering Heights.
The film, an updated version of the Emily Bronte novel, features a cast of up-and-comers and premiered at the Venice Film Festival while also screening at TIFF. It won a best cinematography award at Venice and has been praised for its visuals.
The company plans to release the film theatrically in 2012, followed by releases on DVD and in multiple digital platforms.
Heights is an Ecosse Films Production with Film4, the U.K. Film Council, Screen Yorkshire and Goldcrest Films co-developing and co-financing.
Ecosse's Robert Bernstein and Douglas Rae produced the movie with Kevin Loader.
HanWay repped the film in the deal and is handling international sales.
Arnold also directed Michael Fassbender-starring indie Fish Tank (2009).
