Toronto 2011: Sundance Selects Picks Up 'Beloved'

The French drama from director Christophe Honore stars Catherine Deneuve and Ludivine Sagnier.
Sundance Selects, which released Werner Herzog’s Cave of Forgotten Dreams earlier this year, has picked up the North American rights to Beloved (Les biens-aimes), the French drama from director Christophe Honore whose cast includes Catherine Deneuve and Ludivine Sagnier.
The movie was the closing night of the 2011 Cannes Film Festival and is getting a gala presentation at TIFF.
Beloved is desribed as a romantic musical drama that stars Deneuve and her real-life daughter Chiara Mastroianni in a story that follows three decades’ worth of a mother and daughter's misadventures in love.
The movie was produced by Why Not Productions, France 2 Cinéma, Sixteen Films, Negativ with the Participation of Canal + France.
Sundance Select’s Arianna Bocco, made the deal with Hengameh Panahi of Celluloid Dreams.
This is the fifth time Sundance Selects is working with Honore, having previously partnered on Dans Paris, Love Songs, La Belle Personne, and Making Plans for Lena.
