Toronto: Festival to Host 'Evening With Al Pacino' Fundraiser
TORONTO — Al Pacino will be doing triple-duty at the upcoming Toronto Film Festival.
The Oscar-winning actor will already be in town for glitzy launches of two movies he stars in: Barry Levinson's Philip Roth adaptation The Humbling and David Gordon Green's Manglehorn, both of which shift to Toronto after bowing in Venice.
Pacino will take part in a $1500-a-ticket informal conversation about his life and career to kick off the Toronto festival on September 3.
The evening is part of an official fundraiser at Bell Lightbox organized by the prestigious festival.
"We're thrilled to have Al Pacino participate in our third annual TIFF gala," said Maxine Bailey, vp advancement at the Toronto festival, in a statement Monday.
The Toronto Film Festival officially gets underway on September 4 with a first-night screening of David Dobkin's family drama The Judge, which stars Robert Downey Jr. and Robert Duvall.
