TORONTO – Alberto Arvelo's Libertador is the largest South American production to date and it shows, judging by this exclusive clip from the movie.

Libertador, costing at least $50 million to produce, makes its worldwide premiere at the Toronto Film Festival on Sept. 9. The epic is produced by Winfried Hammacher and Ana Loehnert, and executive produced by Ramirez.

Noted L.A. Philharmonic music director Gustavo Dudamel, who is from Venezuela, scored the film -- his first.

Ramirez, who made waves with his performance in miniseries Carlos, recently starred in Kathryn Bigelow's Zero Dark Thirty and French drama An Open Heart opposite Juliette Binoche.

Mundial is representing worldwide rights to Libertador.
