The 51 Entertainment founder reveals her favorite place to grab a drink and recalls the time she pitched a movie to Mark Ruffalo outside of a men's bathroom.

Best place to grab a drink after midnight

I’m a mom of two small children. I don’t bring them to TIFF. So let’s be honest, I’m asleep before midnight!

Biggest pet peeve

The pressure for a film to sell immediately after its premiere and if it doesn’t, that somehow, it’s a failure.

Funniest celebrity interaction at TIFF

It’s so embarrassing now to think about it, but when I first started my career and I was 25 or 26, I wanted Mark Ruffalo to be in a movie I was putting together. I happened to be at a party at TIFF and saw him go into a bathroom. So I waited outside the bathroom for him, and then when he came out I pitched him the film. Literally at the door to the men's room! He was very sweet, but it was not a cool move on my behalf. Needless to say, I didn’t get him for the film!

One thing you won’t travel without, besides your phone

My raincoat! Weather is so unpredictable at TIFF! That, and a great pair of walking boots!

Canadians have a reputation for being nice. Name a time you experienced this kindness at TIFF

I was six months pregnant when I was here last and everyone was lovely. People are generally nice to pregnant women, but this was at another level.

Best spot to bump into Justin Trudeau for a selfie

I have no idea … but if you do, please tell me.
