Toronto: RADiUS-TWC Acquires North American Rights to Mike Myers' Directorial Debut 'Supermensch'
UPDATED: The Weinstein Co. subsidiary plans a first-quarter 2014 release for the documentary about the longtime music manager.
RADiUS-TWC has acquired North American rights to Mike Myers' directorial debut, Supermensch: The Legend of Shep Gordon, which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival.
The Weinstein Co. subsidiary will release the film in theaters during the first quarter of 2014. Although RADiUS has had success with dual VOD and theatrical releases, most notably 2012's Bachelorette, Supermensch will be a solely theatrical release.

The documentary about the about the longtime music manager, who worked with Alice Cooper and Blondie among others, was financed and executive produced by A&E IndieFilms. The film features appearances from Cooper, Michael Douglas, Sylvester Stallone, Willie Nelson, Emeril Lagasse and others.

Quinn and Janego negotiated the deal with Molly Thompson from A&E IndieFilms and WME Global.
Myers is represented by WME, Untitled and attorney Bill Jacobson.

In addition to Bachelorette, RADiUS-TWC, the Weinstein Co.'s boutique label dedicated to multi-platform VOD and theatrical distribution, has also handled distribution for Nicholas Winding Refn's Only God Forgives, starring Ryan Gosling, and Lovelace, starring Amanda Seyfried.
