Toronto: XYZ Films Picks Up Sales Rights to 'Wolf'
Jim Taihuttu's film will premiere at the San Sebastian International Film Festival, and the L.A.-based company will be selling the pic at the upcoming Toronto film fest.
Ahead of the Toronto Film Festival, XYZ Films picked up world sales rights (excluding Benelux) to the Dutch crime thriller Wolf.
Written and directed by Jim Taihuttu, the film will have its premiere at the San Sebastian International Film Festival. XYZ Films will sell the project at the upcoming Toronto Film Festival.
Wolf follows a young man who, after being released from prison, decides to use his mixed martial arts skills to build himself a new life. But the worlds of kickboxing and organized crime quickly begin to blur.
The film stars Marwan Kenzari (Rabat), Nasrdin Dchar (Tirza), Raymond Thiry (Langer Licht), and Slimane Dazi (A Prophet). It was produced by Julius Ponten of Habbekrats for Production Partners NTR, Nederlands Filmfonds, Mediafonds, CoBO-Fonds, Fei Productions and TopNotch.
"We are absolutely thrilled to be representing Wolf," says XYZ co-founder Aram Tertzakian. "It's a visually stunning, emotionally charged and deeply human crime thriller with powerful performances all around. Jim Taihuttu is an enormous talent, and we expect Wolf to be the first of many collaborations with Jim and Habbekrats."
