Tracy Morgan returns as 'Scare Tactics' host
Syfy launching new shows, reality programming block
Syfy is expanding its reality slate with new shows, a new night and the return of Tracy Morgan to the network.
The NBC-Uni cable channel has ordered a couple new hour-long series -- "Paranormal Investigators," about a team that travels the world attempting to uncover the truth behind supernatural claims, and "Mary Knows Best," a docusoap about a Long Island psychic.
The duo will populate a new reality block for the network on Thursday nights starting July 15. Another new show, "Beast Legends," bringing legendary creatures to life with computer graphics, will join the block at a later time, and Syfy has also ordered a fourth season of "Destination Truth."
In addition, Tracy Morgan ("30 Rock") will return as host of prank series "Scare Tactics" and will gain an executive producer credit on the show. The fourth season of "Tactics" begins production on 13 new episodes that will premiere this fall.

"We're ecstatic to be bringing back 'Scare Tactics' for another season to all our die-hard Syfy reality fans," said Mark Stern, executive vp of programming, Syfy. "Tracy has his finger on the pulse when it comes to comedy and having him on board as executive producer just adds another layer to the huge success of our show."
The announcements were part of Syfy's upfront presentation to advertisers on Tuesday where the network emphasized improved delivery of upscale young adult viewers during its first season since changing its name from Sci Fi Channel.
