Trailer Report: 'Maleficent' First Trailer Opens at No. 1, 'X-Men' Continues to Perform Strong

With the Angelina Jolie take on "Sleeping Beauty" in first, ''Divergent" and "Noah" also bow in the top 10.

Maleficent, the reimaging of the Sleeping Beauty fairy tale starring Angelina Jolie, debuted as the most viewed trailer on YouTube, according to Internet monitoring service Zefr.

Maleficent trailer No. 1 recorded 9.7 million views its first week out. The movie, which tells Sleeping Beauty's story from the perspective of the evil witch, is expected to be one of the summer's big hits when it debuts on May 30. 

X-Men: Days of Future Past trailer No. 1 held the second spot for the second straight week. It notched 4.9 million views to add to its lifetime total, which stands at 26.7 million. 

Divergent trailer No. 1 debuted in third place with 2.5 million views, a surprisingly soft opening for the adaptation of the best-selling YA book. Shailene Woodley headlines the movie, which opens in March. 

Hunger Games: Catching Fire trailer No. 2  came in fourth and trailer No. 3 came in ninth, with 1.8 million and 1.02 million views, respectively. The movie opens Nov. 22. 

Noah trailer No. 1 had 1.2 million to hold the fifth spot on Zefr's most viewed trailer table. The movie, which features Russell Crowe as Noah, opens March 28. 

Lone Survivor trailer No. 2 notched 1.1 million views. It was the first week out for second coming attraction for the Mark Wahlberg Afghan War movie, which arrives in theaters on January 10. 

Ride Along trailer No. 1 came in seventh after debuting at No. 16 the previous week. It attracted 1.09 million views for a two-week total of 1.7 million. 

Rounding out the top 10 were 300: Rise of an Empire trailer No. 1 at No. 8 with 1.04 million views. The swords-and-sandals CGI epic has a lifetime total of 37.1 million views and Hercules: The Legend Begins trailer no. 1 in the 10th spot with 1,007,461 YouTube views.
