Trevor Noah Criticized as Anti-Semitic Due to Twitter History

The just-named 'Daily Show' host is already facing backlash.

On Monday Trevor Noah was named Jon Stewart's replacement as host of The Daily Show. By Tuesday, the Internet had uncovered old tweets of his, which critics are labeling as anti-Semitic and sexist.

While Noah's past jokes invited backlash, there are people who jumped to his defense as well. The South African comedian alluded to the criticism in a tweet on Tuesday morning, which he quickly deleted. He wrote, "Twitter does not have enough characters to respond to all the characters on Twitter."
