TORONTO – Tribeca Film has acquired U.S. rights to Sean Garrity’s My Awkward Sexual Adventure, ahead of a March release for the raunchy sex comedy.
The Canadian indie, which bowed at the Toronto International Film Festival, also has been sold by Archstone Distribution to Entertainment One in France, the U.K., Scandinavia and South Africa; Rialto Distribution in Australia; Premiere in the Benelux and Russia; and Euro Video in Germany.
Other territories checked off by Archstone include a deal with Edko Films for Hong Kong, Hungary’s ADS, Joy-N-Contents in South Korea and Spain’s Alimpro Films.
My Awkward Sexual Adventure stars Jonas Chernick as a conservative accountant on a tour of strip clubs and massage parlors to win back his unsatisfied girlfriend.
Emily Hampshire, Vik Sahay and Sarah Manninen also star in the Canadian indie, which won an audience award at the Whistler Film Festival.
Juliette Hagopian produced the film along with Chernick, who wrote the script.
