Tribune will air HBO pair
EmptyTribune stations have picked up the rights to syndicate the HBO comedy series "Entourage" and "Curb Your Enthusiasm" starting next year.
The deal means Tribune stations in 17 markets including New York, Los Angeles and Chicago will have the rights to air all seven seasons of "Curb" and all six seasons of "Entourage."
HBO and Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution licensed the series in a barter deal to Tribune for a three-year run. Both series will be stripped Monday-Friday, along with one weekend telecast, beginning in fall 2010.
" 'Entourage' and 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' are two of the funniest, most original programs on television, and now a vast new audience will get to enjoy them," said Scott Carlin, president of domestic distribution at HBO.
"The broad demographic appeal of both shows, combined with the fact that they are virtually first-run to a majority of viewers, provides local stations with something truly new and exciting to offer their advertisers." (partialdiff)
