Tricia McAlpin to Write Script for 'Forever, Interrupted,' Starring Dakota Johnson

The 'Fifty Shades' star is attached to the Gidden Media and Good Universe project.

Tricia McAlpin has been tapped to write the screenplay for Forever, Interrupted, a book-to-film adaptation that has Dakota Johnson attached to star.

Gidden Media and Good Universe are teaming to make the movie, about a young woman (Johnson) whose whirlwind marriage is cut short when her husband dies. In coming to terms with the loss, she forms an unlikely relationship with her mother-in-law — who didn't even know of her existence.

Taylor Jenkins Reid wrote the 2013 book, her debut novel. Gidden's Amy Baer will produce Forever, Interrupted, with Johnson executive producing alongside Good Universe's Nathan Kahane and Joe Drake, as well as John Middleton and Roy Lee. Erin Westerman is overseeing for Good Universe.

McAlpin’s writing credits include episodes of Brooklyn Nine-Nine; she's also attached to write Paul Feig's The Heat spinoff. She is repped by 3 Arts Entertainment.
