Joel McHale, Richard Ayoade and Jessica St. Clair have been tapped as the three leads of NBC's comedy pilot "The IT Crowd."

Meanwhile, Riley Smith has joined the cast of Fox's drama pilot "Drive" as a regular.

"IT Crowd," from NBC Universal TV Studio and FremantleMedia North America, is a hybrid multi- and single-camera comedy based on the British Channel 4 series about three misfits -- Roy (McHale), Moss (Ayoade) and Jen (St. Clair) -- who work in the IT department of a large corporation.

David Guarascio, Moses Port, Joe Port and Joe Wiseman are the writers/executive producers.

British comedian Ayoade will reprise the role he originated on the Channel 4 series.

McHale's credits include "Spider-Man 2" and hosting duties on E! Entertainment's "The Soup." He is repped by the Gersh Agency and Sonesta Entertainment.

St. Clair starred in the 2005 NBC/NBC Uni TV comedy pilot "Lies and the Wives We Tell Them To," which was written and exec produced by Guarascio and Moses Port. She is repped by CAA and Management 360.

"Drive," from 20th Century Fox TV, chronicles an underground race across America.

Smith will play one of the participants, Rob Laird.

Smith's series credits include recurring roles on CBS' "Joan of Arcadia" and Fox's "24." He is repped by Innovative Artists.
