Benderspink has promoted three of its own to partners in the growing management and production company: Charlie Gogolak, head of lit management; Jill McElroy, lit manager; and Jake Weiner, head of production.

"We're proud and excited to make Charlie, Jill and Jake partners as we build this company," principal Chris Bender said. "They've been with us since the start, and they help make up the fabric and personality of the company."

Said principal JC Spink: "We feel like we're just getting started, and we want to build a strong team with different perspectives as we build our clients' careers in strategic but creative ways and continue to make more movies and television shows."

Gogolak started at the company in 1999 as a manager. One of his first moves was landing Benderspink clients John Requa and Glenn Ficarra a meeting with the Coen brothers, which led to them writing "Bad Santa." Among his clients are Mike Bender ("Not Another Teen Movie"), Eric Bress ("The Butterfly Effect"), Adam "Tex" Davis ("Just Friends") and Brian Lynch ("Dodge"). Gogolak also is a producer, with credits including "Kyle XY" for ABC Family and "Dodge" for the CW.

"Charlie left a good job to take a shot with us when we had little but blissful ignorance on our side, and his depth of experience makes him an asset to all of the company's clients," Bender said.

Hired in 2000, McElroy was Spink's first assistant at the company and became its first in-house promotion, to that of manager.

Her clients include Andrea Berloff ("World Trade Center"), Melisa Wallack ("Bill") and Steven Rogers ("P.S., I Love You"). She is also a co-producer on "Killers," a horror movie written by Benderspink client Kelly Palmer that is in production and being directed by Chris Moore.

"Jill's passion for her clients is boundless, and she's tapped into the next generation of writers and executives better than anyone I know," Spink said.

Weiner joined the company in 2001 as Benderspink's first production arm hire; he previously worked in production and development at New Line Cinema. Weiner helped develop "Monster-in-Law" as well as the critically acclaimed David Cronenberg film "A History of Violence" and was on set overseeing production of "Just Friends" in Canada. Among the projects he is attached to produce are "Torrente" at New Line, "The Eighth Wonder" at Universal and "Guy Not Taken" at DreamWorks. Additionally, Weiner works in tandem with Spink to manage clients Deb Kaplan and Harry Elfont, April Blair and his sister Jennifer Weiner, author of "In Her Shoes."

"Jake has truly become our partner in the production arm," Bender said. "He has great taste and is a phenomenal developer of material, along with having great talent relationships."

In addition to its lit management division, the company has a talent side that includes such clients as Maggie Gyllenhaal, Emmy Rossum, Monica Potter and Ellen Burstyn. The division is run by talent partner Courtney Kivowitz along with Christian Donatelli.
