‘True Blood’ Alum Fiona Shaw Signs With UTA (Exclusive)
The Olivier Award winner starred as the mother of Jesus in “The Testament of Mary” in London last month.
Irish actress Fiona Shaw has signed with UTA, The Hollywood Reporter has exclusively learned.
Shaw is known around the world for playing Aunt Petunia in the Harry Potter franchise. She also starred in HBO’s True Blood as the witch leader Marnie, the primary antagonist of the fourth season. Her other screen credits include The Tree of Life, The Black Dahlia, The Butcher Boy, Franco Zeffirelli’s Jane Eyre and My Left Foot.
Last month Shaw appeared on the London stage in the play The Testament of Mary as the mother of Christ, a role she originated during its Tony-nominated Broadway run last year. Shaw herself was nominated for a Best Actress Tony in 2003 for Medea. Across the pond, she has won Olivier Awards for her performances in Machinal, Electra, As You Like It and The Good Person of Sichuan.
