NEW YORK -- Wagner/Cuban Companies' distribution outfit Truly Indie will handle the domestic release of Brian Jun's family drama "Steel City" starring Thomas Guiry, John Heard and America Ferrera.

"Steel" centers on a troubled son (Guiry) abandoned by his alcoholic father (Heard) who struggles to make his way in a small Illinois town and bring his family together. He finds some comfort in the arms of a co-worker (Ferrera).

The film premiered at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival and earned a 2007 Independent Spirit Award best supporting actor nom for Raymond J. Barry, who plays the lead character's ex-Marine uncle.

"Steel" will debut May 25 in New York and have a theatrical rollout in San Francisco, Seattle, Boston, Minneapolis and Chicago in June.

The Your Half Pictures production was produced by Rusty Gray, Ryan Harper and Brian Jun, and executive produced by Eric Arlt, Mark Covington, Mike Gandy and P.J. Jun.

The distribution deal was negotiated by Harper with Truly Indie executive director Kelly Sanders and head of business and legal affairs Jason Janego.
