Trump the Critic? Parody Twitter Feed Aims to Make Film Criticism Great Again
There's a new film critic in town, and he's had it up to here with your Hollywood political correctness.
While film criticism as a profession may be dying, one new critic has emerged to revive the long-lost art of film theory and analysis and to “make cinema great again!”
A new voice on Twitter, @ArtHouseTrump, is delivering around-the-clock film criticism on high- and low-brow films in the social media voice of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump himself.
Speaking in the language of the Donald, with continuous exclamation marks, all-caps emphasis, 3 a.m. rants, and a complete disdain for political correctness, @ArtHouseTrump critiques Hollywood in an effort to make movies bigger, better and stronger than ever before.
Similar to Donald Trump having skipped over having any sort of political background on his road to the White House, @ArtHouseTrump skips over the film theory and "tells it like it is," minus the facts and unbiased restraint.
And the feed's lack of political correctness has earned it a loyal following of, at press time, almost 10,000 followers, far short of @RealDonaldTrump's 12 million-plus followers and bots, but far more than @ArtHouseHillary, who is barely pushing 200. And he's crushed the competition from the likes of @ArtHouseObama, @ArtHouseSanders and @ArtHouseCruz.
While @ArtHouseTrump doesn’t follow @RealDonaldTrump, the feed does follow @HillaryClinton and over a hundred film critics to actively spar with.
