With Donald Trump soon to be in the White House, Corey Lewandowski is leaving CNN.

The former Trump campaign manager has resigned from his role as commentator with the network for a new gig in the president-elect's White House, the network's Reliable Sources anchor, Brian Stelter, reported on Friday.

A network rep did not add any additional comment beyond confirming the departure.

Lewandowski officially resigned from the Trump campaign in June and joined up with the cable news network shortly after.

He's been one of the most hotly debated voices at CNN during his time there, becoming a focal point for critics who've argued the network has stacked its ranks with surrogates with murky ties to campaigns without properly disclosing a conflict of interest.

One controversial moment: his photo with Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway and press secretary Hope Hicks just days before Election Day, hashtagged #teamwork.
