Blake Lively is many things -- lucky, for one, due to her marital status with Ryan Reynolds and, uh, her legs, for another. And she's also somewhat groundbreaking in her fashion choices, possessing an effortless yet fun, trend-driven style that always seems to inspire a gaggle of fans. Superstylists Emily Current and Meritt Elliott -- who don't work with the actress but with Jessica Alba and Emma Roberts -- agree. And for their first Cannes trend commentary, posted here daily about Cannes looks you can easily try at home, they're urging Pret-a-Reporter readers to take a cue from the fantastical Chanel frock Lively wore to her Mr. Turner premiere on Thursday. Specifically, its pockets.

"We love the idea of adding an unexpected pocketing detail to an otherwise formal look," says the L.A.-based duo, who released a book on denim in March. "Functional fashion is always on trend, and pockets are the perfect way to make even the most dramatic gowns feel practical and effortless. In addition, pockets can strategically add the appearance of interesting dimension and feminine curves."
