Turner's David Eilenberg Named ITV Entertainment President
The programming exec takes the post vacated by Orly Adelson in 2015.
ITV Entertainment has found a new president in David Eilenberg. The veteran programming executive, most recently senior vp unscripted development, late night and specials for TNT and TBS, joins the stateside arm of the British powerhouse in the position last filled by Orly Adelson.
“David is one of the smartest, most well-liked and talented people in our business," said ITV American CEO Brent Montgomery. "With a vast creative and production background that encompasses breakthrough international franchises for network and cable alike, as well as being an experienced and artful buyer, David is in a unique position to lead ITV Entertainment. This is a time when the ability to adeptly and sensitively navigate a complex and changing TV landscape has never been more critical. In this regard, David Eilenberg is simply a home run for all of us at ITV.”
Eilenberg, who had a long tenure at Mark Burnett Productions, joined Turner in 2012 and most recently led its unscripted and alternative push under TBS and TNT president and Turner Entertainment chief creative officer Kevin Reilly. His series at the networks include King of the Nerds, Cold Justice and Howie Mandel’s Deal With It.
At ITV, Eilenberg will oversee development, programming and production on the studio's roster, which currently includes Fox's Hell's Kitchen and E!'s Rich Kids of Beverly Hills.
“Having worked for some of the best producers and executives in television, I know what a great opportunity it is to be able to join an international entertainment powerhouse with the resources, reach and deep talent pool of ITV," said Eilenberg. "I am thrilled and eager to help shape and propel ITV Entertainment at this truly exciting time.”
