TV Academy's Ed Sullivan Statue Recovered
The 20 lb. statue had been missing since Sunday, when it was stolen
The Television Academy's bronze 18-inch-tall Ed Sullivan statue was lost — actually, stolen by a mysterious thief — but now it's been found and recovered.
"The Television Academy is thrilled that the Ed Sullivan statue has been recovered and returned in excellent condition to the Academy," a statement from an academy rep read. "With the upcoming renovations to the Television Academy campus, this statue will be placed in secure storage until those renovations are complete. We would like to thank the Los Angeles Police Department and local media for helping in the search and safe return of this statue."

The 20 lb. statue was nabbed from the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Hall of Fame Plaza on Sept. 28, authorities stated in a Tuesday news bulletin. The Television Academy even put out a notice asking its followers if it had any information on what happened.
A detective for the Los Angeles police department's North Hollywood division could not be reached for comment.
