'HILLS' SPINOFF for mtv?

MTV is eyeing a spinoff of its top-rated series "The Hills," sources said. The network, which declined comment, is said to be developing a show starring "Hills" regular Whitney Port as her job at fashion PR firm People's Revolution becomes bicoastal and she develops a group of N.Y.-based friends. Us Weekly first reported the news Thursday.



HIGH HONORS for RITTER

A 50-foot portrait of John Ritter will be dedicated at 9 a.m. today as part of Hollywood High School's existing "Portrait of Hollywood" mural, which honors performers who attended the school, including Lana Turner, Laurence Fishburne and Carol Burnett. Today's event also marks the creation of a $500,000 endowment fund for Hollywood High's Performing Arts program provided by developers Gatehouse Capital and Legacy Partners.

Anna Babbitt has been promoted to talent manager at New Wave Entertainment. She was assistant to Barry Katz. Babbitt now reps such clients as Federico Dordei and Traci Moslenko.

NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution has sold "Law & Order: SVU," starring Mariska Hargitay, in more than 70% of the U.S. — including 24 of the top 25 markets — for its weekday broadcast syndication debut in fall 2009.
