The debut of CBS' reality show "Greatest American Dog" won its time period with a modest performance Thursday night. "Dog" (9.5 million viewers, 2.1 rating/8 share in adults 18-49) edged out Fox's "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?" to win at 8 p.m. CBS placed second for the evening after Fox in demo (and first in total viewers), with "Dog," a repeat and then "Swingtown" (5.4 million, 1.7/5).
CNN preps for DNC
CNN veteran political correspondent John King and a smaller version of the video wall that made its mark during the channel's coverage of the presidential primaries will be on hand at next month's Democratic National Convention in Denver and September's Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minn. Wolf Blitzer, Campbell Brown and Anderson Cooper will anchor its convention coverage, with a special Larry King-anchored wrap-up at midnight EDT plus HD coverage of the events and wireless microphones and the CNN Election Express bus that has been covering the campaigns since Iowa.
FEEL the 'burn'
The Season 2 premiere of USA's "Burn Notice" (1.8/6) was 20% higher than its debut last year and led all of cable.
