TV Guide Network Orders 'Hollywood Moms' Club' (Exclusive)
Alison Sweeney and Ali Landry invite their celebrity friends -- and cameras -- into their mom's club dinner parties.
TV Guide Network is getting into business with Hollywood's moms.
The cable net is developing a series about a real-life mom's club started by Alison Sweeney (The Biggest Loser) and Ali Landry (Eve), or "The Ali's," as they're known. Off camera -- and now on-- the Ali's get together with their celebrity friends for themed pot-luck dinner parties at their homes. Each episode of Hollywood Moms' Club will feature a different Hollywood mom, with Denise Richards guest starring in the pilot.
“Alison Sweeney and I started a supper club and invited our favorite celebrity mom friends, including Denise Richards, Brooke Burke, Nancy O’Dell, Holly Robinson Peete, Candace Cameron Bure, Kyle Richards and Lisa Rinna,” said Landry. “We get together at each other’s homes once a month for dinner, and they always lead to fun, unexpected moments and candid conversations between great friends.”
Added Sweeney, “It’s an opportunity to exchange personal stories about our lives, careers and families. Our conversations are raw and uncensored – no topic is off-limits! Ali’s pregnant, Denise just adopted a baby girl, and we’re working on the rest of the guest list right now!"
The news comes a month or so after Jersey Shore mastermind SallyAnn Salsano's Nail Files, about a Hollywood nail salon and its owner, debuted to record ratings for the network. Both projects are part of a larger push for TV Guide to become a hub for off-net fare like Weeds, The Hills and Curb Your Enthusiasm as well as originals.
In this case, the project comes from Ellen Rakieten Entertainment and RelativityREAl, with Landry and Sweeney serving as executive producers. The pilot is set to air in November.
