TV Ratings: 'Big Brother' Propels CBS to Win on Rerun Heavy Sunday
"The Marriage Ref," one of the few broadcast originals, is up week-over-week.
Big Brother propelled CBS to a ratings win on a Sunday rife with reruns. The network averaged a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 6.3 million viewers overall from 7-11 p.m., according to Nielsen.
The second episodes of the 13th cycle of Big Brother easily won the 8 p.m. hour with a 2.4 rating and 6.8 million viewers, down slightly week-to-week. 60 Minutes, Undercover Boss and CSI: Miami were all in reruns.
Fox averaged a 1.3 rating with 2.9 million viewers overall for the night with reruns of its animation lineup. ABC posted a 0.9 rating with 4.1 million viewers for reruns of Home Edition, Castle and Body of Proof.
NBC also posted a 0.9 rating with 3.9 million viewers overall. The only other original entertainment series on last night – NBC’s The Marriage Ref – was up 25 percent to a 1.0 rating with 3.1 million viewers. That put it behind a rerun of CBS’ CSI: Miami (1.2, 5.3 million) but ahead of ABC’s Body of Proof repeat (0.7, 4.0 million) in the demo.
