TORONTO -- Entertainment One has acquired the North American distribution rights to Twice Born, Italian actor Sergio Castellitto's fourth film as director and starring Penelope Cruz and Emile Hirsch.
The film, which bowed in Toronto ahead of a screening in San Sebastian, stars Cruz and Hirsch as conflicted lovers in war-torn Sarajevo.
Twice Born is expected to be released in theaters in the U.S. and Canada in 2013.
The deal for Entertainment One, which also recently picked up the North American rights to Brian De Palma's Passion out of Toronto, follows an expansion of its North American theatrical distribution arm.
