'Twilight' Producer Summit Entertainment Signs Supply Deal With Hopscotch in Oz
The Australian/New Zealand distributor will release six to eight titles from the U.S. indie annually as part of a three-year deal.
MONTREAL – Entertainment One is extending its ties to Summit Entertainment by inking an output deal between the U.S. Twilight movie franchise producer and Hopscotch, its distribution arm in Australia and New Zealand.
The three year deal will see Hopscotch release Summit films in all media down under.
The agreement calls for an expected six to eight films to distributed annually, starting with Summit’s next unspecified film in production.
Toronto-based Entertainment One acquired Hopscotch earlier this year, and has released Summit pictures in Canada and the UK since 2007.
Summit International topper David Garrett said it made sense to hammer out a supply deal in Australia and New Zealand as Entertainment One has been a “trusted and steadfast output partner" and the U.S. indie earlier worked with Hopscotch to release the action-thriller Source Code down under.
