Twins to reunite for first time in two years
Female duo wrecked by member's 2008 sex photo scandalHONG KONG -- Hong Kong actress-singer Gillian Chung on Wednesday announced she will reunite with her former bandmate for two concerts, as her comeback from a sex photos scandal gained momentum.
Chung was one of eight Hong Kong female stars who was seen performing sex acts with Canadian-Chinese entertainer Edison Chen in nude pictures leaked onto the Internet in 2008.
The pictures, stolen off Chen's laptop, created a huge uproar in the Chinese-speaking world and derailed the careers of the stars in the photos.
But Chung has mounted a comeback, signing commercial endorsements and appearing in a play in August. She also recently finished shooting the romance "Ex," which will premiere as the closing movie at the Hong Kong International Film Festival on April 6.
On Wednesday, she appeared with former bandmate Charlene Choi to announce two reunion concerts for Twins, the popular female pairing that first catapulted the duo to stardom.
"We've changed a lot. We were separated for a long time. We dealt with very different situations," Chung said without mentioning the scandal directly.
Choi joked that she missed facing the media with her former partner because they could cover for each other.
"Reporters will ask us very tough questions. If they asked her (Chung) a question, I would answer for her immediately. If they asked me a question, she would answer for me. I've been waiting for this reunion for a long time," she said.
