Twitter to Release Its Own Music App (Report)
The app would help users find new music and round up the most talked-about songs on social media.
Twitter is about to dive into the world of music discovery.
The micro-blogging social network is reportedly about to release an application dubbed Twitter Music designed to help people find new music, according to a report from CNet.
The application is being built by We Are Hunted, a small Australian developer that Twitter acquired last year, said Cnet, which predicted that an iOS version of the app could debut by the end of the month.

Founded in Brisbane in 2007, We Are Hunted taps into message boards, P2P networks, blogs and social media to serve up a continuously updated list of 99 songs trending online.
The company has focused on building apps and widgets as a third-party developer for platforms such as Spotify and Winamp. Through a proprietary search technology, the company scours the Web to surface up-and-coming artists whose songs have struck a chord with listeners.
"Looking at music this way, we detect sentiment, expression and advocacy to better understand what people like and dislike at any given moment," according to a description on We Are Hunted’s website.
Messages to Twitter and We Are Hunted’s co-founder Richard Slatter were not immediately returned.
