'Friends' Co-Creator, 'The Lucky One' Producers Developing Lifetime Telepic (Exclusive)
Marta Kauffman, Denise Di Novi and Alison Greenspan are adapting "Two Kisses for Maddy," the touching 2011 memoir written by a widowed father.
Two Kisses for Maddy is poised to get the Lifetime movie treatment.
BOOK REVIEW: 'Two Kisses for Maddy'
The telepic is being adapted from Matt Logelin’s memoir, Two Kisses for Maddy: A Memoir of Loss and Love, which details both his courtship and marriage, as well as the moments surrounding his wife’s death and the first year of his daughter’s life without her.
Logelin’s tragic story struck a chord with readers. His blog, Matt, Liz and Madeline: Life and Death, All in a 27-hour Period, was generating more than 40,000 hits a day at its peak in 2008. The memior catapulted onto the New York Times bestseller list when it was published in 2011.
The film project, currently in early stages of development at the femme-skewing network, does not yet have a writer attached. Friends co-creator Marta Kauffman, who served as an EP on Lifetime’s high-profile Five miniseries, will executive produce alongside The Lucky One’s Denise Di Novi and partner Alison Greenspan.
If ultimately ordered, Two Kisses would join Lifetime's growing list of high-profile TV movies including its Elizabeth Taylor-Richard Burton effort Liz & Dick, starring Lindsay Lohan, a June Carter Cash biopic featuring Jewel and a ripped from the headlines tale, Left to Die, headlined by Barbara Hershey.
