Two Promoted at Starz Digital Media
Mara Winokur and David Katz have been upped to senior vice president and vice president, respectively.
Mara Winokur has been promoted to senior vice president of digital media, business development and strategy at Starz Media, making her the new head of the division. In addition, David Katz has been upped to vice president of digital media, it was announced on Wednesday by Ed Huguez, executive vice president of affilate sales and marketing for Starz.
“Starz Digital Media is in very capable and creative hands with Mara and David and I congratulate them on their respective promotions,” said Huguez. “The Digital group has been a source of great energy, solid business performance, and terrific innovation through its development of leading edge properties, such as the Spartacus Facebook game. Media properties, such as these, build synergy with our originals and create ancillary revenue opportunities for the company.”
Winokur will now oversee the entire Starz Digital Media division and the digital initiatives supporting its film, television and digital content properties. She and her team will manage digital distribution, licensing, syndication, content and vendor partnerships. Prior to working at Starz, she worked at EMI Music Entertainmnet and Sony BMG Entertainment.
Katz, who previously served as executive director, will expand on his role by including responsibilities for product development, partner relationships and multi-platform marketing across business models. He will continue to oversee the creation, development and execution of Starz Digital Media digital extensions, including apps and games.
