U.K.'s Goldcrest Films Hires Sales Exec Muscle as AFM Starts
The British sales, finance and postproduction banner hires Catherine Quantschnigg, a former IM Global high-flyer, to help ramp up sales and acquisitions activities.
Former IM Global high-flyer Catherine Quantschnigg has joined U.K. sales, finance and postproduction banner Goldcrest as it heads into action at this year's American Film Market.
Goldcrest Films managing director Pascal Degove said Quantschnigg joins as the sales arm's vp international sales.
Quantschnigg most recently served as vp international sales and acquisitions at Indomina Releasing, from bases in Europe and L.A.
Previously, Quantschnigg was vp international sales for IM Global and was additionally charged with running its genre label Octane.
Her duties there covered worldwide acquisition, sales and financing of U.S. films, most notably the box office hit Paranormal Activity, which grossed $180 million worldwide.
In her new role Quantschnigg will support Degove to spearhead Goldcrest's ambitions to expand its sales slate of commercial, talent-driven titles.
Quantschnigg also spent time on Showtime Networks International sales team selling and financing series including Dexter, Californication, Sleeper Cell and Brotherhood.
"This is a hugely exciting time for Goldcrest, and I’m thrilled to be arriving at the AFM with a new opportunity and look forward to introducing our distributors to some really exciting new titles," she said.
Goldcrest lands at the AFM with psychological horror film The Autopsy of Jane Doe, directed by Andre Ovredal, his follow-up to international sleeper hit Troll Hunter.
Goldcrest is fully financing the project and is repping worldwide sales on the title.
