The deal follows Mara Pictures' deal for U.K. theatrical rights to Nair's movie based on Mohsin Hamid's novel which tells the pre- and post-9/11 story of a young Pakistani man chasing corporate success on Wall Street in the era of globalization.

Riz Ahmed stars alongside Kate Hudson, Liev Schreiber and Kiefer Sutherland.

Mara Pictures has now acquired DVD/BluRay, Internet and VOD rights to The Reluctant Fundamentalist.

The film unspooled in the U.K. on May 10 and is currently still in release in selected theaters.

"We look forward to further exploration of the thriving and interesting independent South Asian cinema scene and bringing these films to U.K. audiences on various distribution platforms," said Mara Pictures' Sanam Hasan.
