UKTV Brings 'Perception' to British Screens
The joint venture between BBC Worldwide and Scripps Networks inks a content deal with Disney for three ABC Studios programs.
LONDON – UKTV, a joint venture between BBC Worldwide and Scripps Networks International, has inked a content deal with Disney U.K. & Ireland which will see three ABC Studios dramas launch on UKTV’s channels.
U.S. drama Perception, starring Eric McCormack will premiere exclusively on UKTV’s flagship entertainment channel Watch later this year.
Forest Whitaker vehicle Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior, a spin off from the TV show Criminal Minds and cop procedural The Protector have also been exclusively acquired to make their U.K. premieres on crime channel Alibi.
The deal was brokered by UKTV’s head of acquisitions and co-productions Alexandra Finlay and Cristina Brun, senior sales manager, Media Distribution, Disney U.K. & Ireland.
Finlay said: “We’re delighted to be continuing our strong relationship with Disney."
