NBCU Global Nets expanding in territory

MOSCOW -- NBC Universal Global Networks is launching two channels in Russia this week -- Universal Channel and Sci Fi.

Both channels will be included in packages of the country's leading satellite TV operator, NTV Plus. The launch comes as part of NBCU Global Networks' channel expansion plan into "priority markets," the company said.

The fully localized channels will be managed by Colin McLeod, managing director, Central and Eastern Europe, while a new Moscow-based management team also will be formed.
